Inchelium Red
This artichoke softneck has a medium pungency, rich flavor. A taste test winner in the softneck division. A great baking garlic. Produces large bulbs, with over 3 inches in diameter possible. Grows well in both Southern and warmer Northern states. Harvests in early summer and stores well into winter. A large healthy garlic that will store 6β8 months.
Castano
Castano is a striking artichoke softneck garlic named for the Spanish word for chestnut β a nod to its distinctive chestnut-brown inner cloves that contrast beautifully against white and purple-tinged outer wrappers. Known for its intense aroma and bold, pungent flavor with a spicy kick, Castano is a true garlic loverβs variety. Its soft, pliable stalk makes it ideal for braiding. Excellent raw, roasted, or used to build deep flavor in sauces, soups, and marinades. Stores 9β12 months.
Messedor
Messedor is a highly regarded French white artichoke softneck, prized for its impressively large bulbs, exceptional yields, and outstanding storage life. The bulbs are large and beautifully white, housing 10β15 creamy white to beige cloves with a mellow, balanced flavor and a pleasant mild spice. Ideal for roasting whole, slicing raw into salads, or building depth in sauces and soups. A true all-purpose kitchen garlic. Thrives in warmer climates with good adaptability to cold winters. Stores well into the following season.
Garcua
Garcua is a vigorous artichoke softneck garlic prized by growers for its impressively large, globe-shaped bulbs and exceptional storage life. With creamy-white outer wrappers and roughly 15β18 oval-shaped cloves per bulb, Garcua is as beautiful as it is productive. Its strong, intense, and traditional garlic flavor makes it a standout in the kitchen β bold enough to anchor a dish on its own, yet versatile enough for everyday cooking. One of the most beginner-friendly varieties we carry, Garcua is hardy and robust, handling cold winters well while thriving in warmer climates. Stores up to 12 months.
Morado
Morado is a bold Creole softneck from Spain and one of the most intensely flavored garlic varieties in the world. Its exceptionally high allicin content β the compound responsible for garlicβs signature heat and depth β delivers a flavor punch that most varieties simply canβt match. Each medium-sized bulb produces 8 to 10 crescent-shaped cloves wrapped in striking deep purple skins beneath clean white outer wrappers. Use it raw for maximum intensity, or roast it to coax out a rich, complex sweetness. Thrives in warmer climates. Outstanding long-term storage.

Sub-Category Information
Artichoke Softneck
Artichoke softneck garlics are very vigorous and produce big garlic bulbs. Many will have 3 to 5 layers overlapping like an artichoke, with 12 to 20 cloves per bulb. Wrappers are white and often contain light purple blotches. Top leaves may fall over a week or two before harvest because of their weak necks (softneck). Bulbs can be large, round, and symmetrical while others are asymmetrical and knobby. Very long storage when properly cured.

Planting Garlic Seed
Virtually all garlic is grown from cloves. Garlic cloves planted in the fall will yield a garlic bulb the following summer. Certified seed stock is paramount, and planting garlic from the supermarket should be avoided. It may have been exposed to bleach, radiation, and/or growth inhibitors to delay sprouting. It may have also been stored in conditions that would be less than ideal for planting stock. You do not want planting stock that has been exposed to diseases, such as white rot, which can stay in your soil for upwards of 30 years.
We cannot refund your money after garlic is planted β NO EXCEPTIONS. There are just too many variables in growing conditions of each garden. If there is a problem with your garlic upon arrival, please call or email right away so that we can correct any problem before planting. (208) 260-8966
